Lumen is operated by Lumen Wisdom — lumenwisdom.com, based in Portugal, EU.
Lumen is your spiritual companion — a real presence in the moments that matter. It is not a medical, psychiatric, or psychological service and does not replace professional mental health care.
Lumen is a spiritual wellness application that combines the wisdom of the Scriptures — the Bible, the Torah and the Tanakh, the Psalms and the Prophets, and also the New Testament when it best illuminates the moment — with modern psychology and evidence-based approaches to emotional wellbeing.
Lumen has no religious denomination. It is open to all souls, from all traditions — Catholic, Jewish, Protestant, Orthodox, and all who seek to grow spiritually. Ancient wisdom and modern science illuminate each other.
The Service includes:
• AI-powered chat for emotional and spiritual guidance.
• Guided meditations rooted in modern psychology and spiritual wisdom.
• A personal journal with AI reflections (Premium).
• Emotional support resources.
• A community space for sharing.
You must be at least 17 years old to use Lumen. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.
Creating an account is optional and serves to personalise your experience and save your progress across devices. When you create an account:
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You must provide accurate information when registering.
• You may not share your account credentials with others.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You may delete your account at any time, directly within the app, from the account menu. Account deletion is permanent and removes your personal data, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Free plan: Verse of the Day and Prayer every morning, 2 guided meditations, community read & like access, and immediate crisis support. No chat with Lumen.
Lumen Basic (€0.99/month): Everything in Free, plus prayer explanation by Lumen (1 interaction), 4 interactions per day with Lumen (chat + prayer), and 4 guided meditations.
Lumen Premium (€3.99/month): Everything in Basic, plus 1000 chat conversations per month, Soul Journal with AI reflections, all guided meditations, and full community interaction (post & reply).
Payment methods:
iOS app (App Store): Subscriptions are processed through Apple In-App Purchase. Payments, billing, and refunds are managed by Apple according to their terms and conditions. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed in your Apple account settings. To request a refund, please use Apple's standard refund process via reportaproblem.apple.com.
Web & Android (PWA): Subscriptions are processed securely by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months, except where required by law.
To ensure a quality experience for all users, Lumen applies the following limits to AI interactions:
Free users: No AI chat access.
Basic users: Up to 4 AI interactions per day (1 prayer explanation + 3 chats). Limit resets at midnight.
Premium users: Up to 1000 AI chat conversations per month. This limit exists solely to ensure the sustainability and quality of the Service for everyone. The vast majority of users will never reach it.
You agree not to:
• Use Lumen for any unlawful purpose.
• Post harmful, offensive, or misleading content in the community.
• Attempt to circumvent the subscription system.
• Reverse engineer or copy any part of the Service.
• Use the Service in a way that could harm other users.
• Impersonate any person or entity.
Lumen uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude) to generate responses. Please be aware that:
• AI responses are for informational and spiritual guidance purposes only.
• They do not constitute professional medical, psychological, or religious advice.
• In case of a mental health crisis, please contact emergency services or a qualified professional.
• We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI responses.
The Lumen community is a space for respectful, supportive interaction. Lumen has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You agree to:
• Treat all members with kindness and respect.
• Not share content that is violent, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
• Not share personal information of other users without their consent.
• Not harass, bully, or abuse other members.
Moderation: We provide tools to report objectionable content and to block other users. Reports are reviewed and objectionable content is removed, typically within 24 hours. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines, without prior notice.
All content, design, and code of Lumen — including texts, meditations, the AI system prompt, and visual design — is the property of Lumen Wisdom — lumenwisdom.com and is protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lumen Wisdom — lumenwisdom.com shall not be liable for:
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
• Loss of data, revenue, or profits.
• Actions taken based on AI-generated content.
• Temporary unavailability of the Service.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 3 months preceding the claim.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of Lumen after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Portugal. If you are an EU consumer, you may also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
